Information for Job Applicants

Thank you for your interest in working at Keystone Accountability. This is an exciting place to work, and we want to give you as much information as we can to help you with your application. We are looking for talented, committed people who are passionate about the work we do and are motivated to use their skills, experience and knowledge in the international development.

KEYSTONE ACCOUNTABILITY

Keystone’s mission is to improve the effectiveness of organisations working in the sustainable development fields through new ways of planning, implementing, measuring and reporting on their work that feature the voices of those meant to benefit from their work — the primary constituents – and other stakeholders.

Keystone promotes Constituent Voice in three ways:

  • Influences thinking and policy through research, outreach and campaigning based on the ‘consumer rights’ of people who are meant to benefit from philanthropy and humanitarian action.
  • Develops methodology, tools, partnerships, and communities of practice for realizing Constituent Voice among civil society, grantmakers, and international organizations.
  • Provides Constituent Voice services to grantmakers and civil society organizations and other social change actors.

Much of what Keystone does is entrepreneurial and involves pushing the boundaries of professions not known for their openness to new ideas: organized philanthropy, evaluation, and sustainable development. Our strapline is ‘changing the way we change the world’.

OUR OPERATING ENVIRONMENT

Working in a fast-moving environment brings its challenges, and people who enjoy helping to shape and embed systems and processes and recognise that uncertainty brings learning and development opportunities will thrive here.

This is a pivotal time for Keystone Accountability. Our team in London is expanding. Our senior managers are approachable and open to ideas. We are small enough to enjoy a level of informality, but we take our work very seriously.

We talk to our colleagues internationally regularly on Skype, and some of the London team travel to carry out their duties.

KEYSTONE ACCOUNTABILITY

Keystone Accountability is a not-for-profit organisation working predominantly in the international development sector.

OUR OFFER

As well as competitive salaries and stimulating work in an innovative culture, we offer a pension contribution upon successful completion of the 3 month probationary period and 25 days’ annual leave for full-time staff in addition to bank holidays.

HOW TO APPLY

If you like the sound of what we do and how we do things and feel you have the right skills to make a significant contribution, we would welcome your application. We believe in equal opportunities for all.

Please send us a copy of your CV to hr[at]keystoneaccountability.org and state the name of the role in the subject line.

We cannot sponsor a visa application for anyone who cannot supply the original of one of documents accepted under the Asylum and Immigration Act (1996) as evidence that you are allowed to work in the UK. We will ask all interview candidates to bring proof with them to the interview.

AFTER YOU HAVE APPLIED

We will acknowledge your application and email or write to you to let you know whether you have been shortlisted for interview. We believe in responding to all applications because we value your time and interest in Keystone Accountability.

Please keep the advertised interview date free. We can offer Skype interviews if there are good reasons why you cannot attend an interview on that day. We ask all candidates what adjustments they need to be able to participate in an interview and test.

If you are not shortlisted for interview, we will shred your application after six months.

 INTERVIEWS AND TESTS

All interview candidates will be required to provide proof of the ability to work in the UK. We will also invite you to complete another equal opportunities form so that we can monitor the diversity of people invited to interview.

We aim to have a man and woman on the interview panel. All candidates will be asked the same questions and will be required to give examples from their experience of how they meet the essential criteria. Skills that cannot be assessed at interview will be tested on the same day immediately before or after the interview. We will not take up references unless we make you an offer.

We endeavour to phone or email all interview candidates, whether successful or not, so that we can give feedback directly and because we value the time you spend talking to us at interview. If we make you a job offer, we will usually ask for a written response within 24 hours.

If you have any questions about Keystone Accountability, the role or the interview process, please contact us at hr[at]keystoneaccountability.org

EMPLOYMENT CHECKS

If you are appointed to the role, we will take up references for the past three years as well as requiring proof of your address from a utility bill or bank statement issued in the previous three months to your start date.

We do hope that this information has been helpful and look forward to receiving your application.
